SEO and Social Media Weekly Reader Oct. 8, 2010

Friday is Reading Day
If you are looking for articles related to SEO or Social media, take a look at this list. I assemble it over the week and post it every Friday.

Some of my favorite or thought provoking finds for this week include one article titled "Six Killer Ways to Boost Blog Traffic and Revenue Via Social Media"
  1. Improve Your SMB Site with These 2 Basic SEO Metrics. (SearchEngineWatch.com Oct 1, 2010) Good article that concentrates on two Google Analytic Metrics - Unique Search Landing Pages and Unique Keyword Visits. Details why each metric is useful and how to use the information.
  2. 3 Form Fields That Kill Landing page Conversions Rates (hubspot.com Oct. 6, 2010)  As the name implies, this article suggests staying away from certain fields on your landing page forms. While the idea behind the article makes sense, and the graphs are pretty I would have liked more data, such as the +/- error range of the data.
  3. Warning: Beware New Breed Of Extortion In Google Maps (searchengineguide.com Oct. 6, 2010) A follow-up on Mike Blumenthal's post regarding a scam involving Google Maps & Places and bad or misleading entries.
  4. Smart Companies Don’t Ignore Brand Mentions on Social Networks (mpdailyfix.com Aug 23, 2010) The basics for companies forming plans or policies to handle brand issues through social media.
  5. Six killer ways to boost blog traffic and revenue via social media (conversionation.net Oct. 6, 2010) A tongue and cheek look at the "best" ways to boost traffic.
I'd be interested in hearing about any blogs or websites you follow, which contain informative articles about Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, or Social Media Marketing.

Thanks,
Jordan Levy
